The 2007-2008 Scholastic Season Is Begins Sept. 8th!

Our tournaments are run by a USCF certified Senior Tournament Director (Craig Smith, USCF ID 12463577).  All tournaments are rated by the USCF and require USCF membership.  This is currently $17 per year for under age 15 and $25 for under age 20.  It is good for any tournament in the USA!

We typically play a five round Swiss System G/30 (30 minutes each player per game).  We have three sections: K-3, K-5 and K-12.  For the East Regional tournament the sections will be K-1, K-3, K-5, K-8 and K-12.

Our tournaments start promptly at 9:30 AM and we try to finish by 4 PM.  We offer half-point advance BYEs in any round.  We provide advance on-line registration to ensure an on time start, but payments must still be made in person.

We provide trophies through at least seventh place for all sections.  We also offer team trophies through third place for all sections.  In addition, to keep our lower rated players motivated and coming back each month, we offer trophies to the top three players in the "Under" section of each group.  The "Under" section is simply the lower half (by rating) of each group.  We also have awards for Biggest Upset in each section, again provide recognition and motivation for lower rated players.  Each year we hold a Brevard County Championship and an East Florida Regional Championship.  These prestigious tournaments offer larger trophies to our champions.  At year end, we provide Grand Prix trophies to the top performing players for the year.  This is based on total points earned over the board (no BYE or forfeit points) for all tournaments.

Below is the schedule for our 2007-2008 Scholastic Season.  The schedule is tentative, so check back often for possible updates.

PRE-REGISTER AND SAVE $5

We strongly encourage Pre-registration before the day of the tournament (cut-off is the day before at 6 PM).  We want our tournaments to begin on time and this is not possible when 50+ players arrive 15 minutes before the start of round 1 to register.  To encourage pre-registration, we will charge $5 extra for any on-site registrations.  To pre-register for the next available tournament, click on the pre-registration link below the tournament name.  ON SITE REGISTRATION WILL CUT OFF AT 9:00 SHARP.  ALL LATE ENTRANTS WILL GET A HALF POINT BYE IN THE FIRST ROUND.  PRE-REGISTRATION WILL CUT OFF AT 6 PM ON THE DAY BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT.
